Jiro Manio, whose real name is Jirō Katakura is a Filipino actor. He was one of the more popular and talented child actors of his time. He was introduced in the movie “Gimik: The Reunion.” He then won as Best
Child Performer in the 2001 Metro Manila Film Festival for his role in
the movie “Bagong Buwan.” He received more awards for his acting talent, among which was Best Actor and Gaward Urian plus Best Child Actor at FAMAS for the movie Magnifico in 2004.
He also starred in the digital film Tambolista under Cinema One and in Ang Tanging Ina Niyong Lahat with Ai-Ai de las Alas.
In recent days, the now 23-year old Jiro has been in the news as he was seen roaming around NAIA termiinal. He was reported to be living at the airport for several days, with help from airport workers who gave him food, water, some money, and clothes.
