Charice Pempengco is facing controversy once again after she underwent Botox and thermage procedures under the famous Filipino cosmetic doctor Vicky Belo.
Apparently, Botox procedure was done in preparation for her for her stint on the popular US show "Glee."
Her representative denied this, saying that “Charice received some Botox shots in her jaw due to muscle pain and she had a facial.You've seen her face - she doesn't have a wrinkle in it so she wouldn't need it for cosmetic purposes."
ABS-CBN's “TV Patrol” on July 20 reported that an 'insider' from the Belo Medical Clinic said that Charice had Botox and Thermage treatments to treat Charice's bruxism. Bruxism is involuntary "teeth-grinding" during sleep.
But apparently, Dr. Vicky Belo said that the procedures were done to narrow Charice’s “naturally round face”. This statement was picked up by the Asosciated Press, CNN, People, MTV, Us Magazine, E! News, and Los Angeles Times and since then was blew out of proportion.
Charice herself was quoted on GMA-7 “24 Oras” that she got the treatments as part of her “big preparation” for “Glee.” "Syempre gusto ko rin namang magmukhang fresh paglabas ng camera”.
