Zanjoe and Mariel confirmed that they have indeed split up.During an interview on "The Buzz", Zanjoe said that Mariel will remain a good friend even after the break-up. He did not reveal the reason behind their separation.
“Kasi kapag once na marami pa tayong kinuwento, marami pa tayong ipinaliwanag, mas hahaba pa nang hahaba,” Marudo said. “Ito nga pinipilit namin sa amin na lang ito. May mga nadadamay kasi at naiiba-iba na ‘yong ispekulasyon ng tao.”

But what about the rumors that Robin Padilla, who temporarily took over Willie Revillame on "Wowowee" is courting her? She denied these rumors and said, “Honestly, I don’t think nanonood siya ng ‘Wowowee’. Siguro normal lang ‘yun para may ma-feel siya, ‘di ba? Pero in all fairness to Binoe, he was such a gentleman, even though he did not have to apologize, nag-apologize siya. Sabi niya, 'Sorry kung meron akong natatapakan o whatever.' But during an interview aired on "TV Patrol", Robin revealed that while he said that he is only ‘courting’ Mariel within the four corners of the “Wowowee” studio, he candidly admitted that he likes her. “Sinong lalaki ba ang hindi mabibighani kay Mariel?” he quipped.
Mariel revealed that their relationship started to get rocky after their trip last Holy Week. She also said that Zanjoe is not dating Cristine Reyes, his new leading lady in an upcoming TV program. "Seriously, there is no third party whatsoever,” she said. Mariel said she understands that Zanjoe had to give up their relationship to focus his career for the good of his family.
