Star Cinema's Kimmy Dora to be shown in SM Theatres

It can be recalled that the Bea Alonzo-Sam Milby-Derek Ramsay hit movie "And I Love You So" was not shown in SM Cinemas. This was due to Star Cinema and SM Cinemas' recent falling out.

Last August 18, Star Cinema issued a statement asking SM Cinemas for “fair computation, sharing scheme and partnership”. It then confirmed earlier speculations that it had “a collection and computation issue” with SM Cinemas for the past few years.” The statement also reflected Star Cinema’s desire to patch up the issue with SM Cinemas, stating “We always aim for a win-win situation that will benefit both our partners and us”

Star Cinema’s managing director Malou Santos advised Spring Films producers to get another distributor for their film, “Kimmy Dora: Kambal sa Kyeme” so that it can be shown at SM Cinemas starting September 2.

“Kimmy Dora” starring Eugene Domingo, Dingdong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo, Miriam Quiambao, Baron Geisler, and Gabby Eigennman will now be distributed by Solar Films.

Eugene Domingo was very happy that “Kimmy Dora” will be shown in SM Cinemas. “Kung hindi tayo lalabas sa SM, malaking kawalan ‘yun,” Eugene said.

Kimmy Dora is produced by Philippine heartthrob Piolo Pascual, from the renowned director Joyce Bernal and is the latest from ABS-CBN's Star Cinema.
