More than 100,000 people watched Willie Revillame in Cagayan de Oro on August 30. Willie was there to host a show sponsored by presidential candidate Sen. Manuel Villar Jr. It was reported that Willie's fans from neighboring provinces traveled all the way to Cagayan de Oro just to see their "idol". The crowd reportedly cheered as Willie appeared on stage and he even distributed money to the crowd.
This show was Willie Revillame's second public appearance since he went on an indefinite leave early August 2009. The first one was hosting a concert at Agro Football Field in Davao City, also sponsored by Senator Villar.
Willie is expected to be back on Wowowee on September 21, after his leave of absence. It can be recalled that many were irked after his on-air statement requesting the removal of former president Corazon Aquino’s funeral procession from Wowowee.
