Gerald Anderson in Maalaala Mo Kaya

Gerald Anderson will star in ABS-CBN's November 7 episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya.

Gerald will portray the role of a Tourette Syndrome (TS) patient. A person with Tourette syndrome makes unusual movements or sounds, called tics. The patient has little or no control over these actions. Some of the more common tics are throat-clearing and blinking. You may repeat words, spin, or, rarely, blurt out swear words.

According to Gerald, "Nung sinabi pa lang sa akin, na-excite na ako. Tapos binasa ko yung script, lalo akong kinabahan. Pero alam mo sana lang, magawa ko ito nang maayos at sana magustuhan ni Jerome [Concepcion, letter sender sa MMK na may Tourrete Syndrome) ang gagawin kong pagganap sa kanya at makapagbigay inspirasyon, lalo na sa mga taong may TS."

Gerald was elated that he was chosen for the lead role. He hopes and prays that he can portray the part well. As a preparation for the shoot, he took the time to watch and research Tourette syndrome over the Internet.

After watching, he hopes to inspire people with or without Tourrete Syndrome and send a positive message to families.
